The 2nd Convocation Ceremony of the Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology will be held on 27th November 2017 (tentative) at International Convention City Bashundhara, Dhaka.
Students who have completed the graduation requirements by the 10th of October 2017 will be able to register for the 2nd Convocation ceremony.
Graduates who have obtained any honours or master’s degree, including B.Ed or in any other subject, but could not attend the first Convocation, they will also be able to attend the 2nd Convocation ceremony with prior approval of the University authority. Interested graduate will have to apply to the Convocation Office using the prescribed form by the 7th of November 2017. According to the serial of their application, interested graduates will have to register for 2nd Convocation during 8 November to 10 November 2017 on first come first serve basis. You can attend the convocation for either the Honours or Master’s degree. Please download the Convocation Registration Form from this webpage and submit the filled-up form to the Convocation Office at the Creative Hub in Uttara Campus along with requisite documents and copy of the Bank Deposit Slip. You will have to pay Tk. 4000/- Convocation Registration Fee (which includes Convocation dinner and cultural event).
In order to register and attend the Convocation ceremony, you will have to clear all outstanding University financial dues, if any, and pay the certificate fees as per the rule of the University. After that you will be eligible to register for the Convocation and attend the Convocation ceremony.
Please bring original and photocopies of the following documents to the Convocation Office along with the Convocation Registration Form:
Original Certificates will be returned immediately after spot verification.
Your graduation portrait photo will be taken at the Convocation Office.
Guests (parents/spouse) may be allowed to attend Convocation ceremony after paying the Guest Fee per person Tk. 2500/-. Maximum two guests will be allowed if space is available.
If any graduate intends to bring his or her parents or spouse as guest, he or she will have to enlist the names of the guests in the Convocation Office during 8 November to 10 November 2017. Please note that the Guest Fee has been revised from Tk. 2500.00 to Tk. 2000.00. (See Convocation Update)
Gown Deposit Fee and collection of gown: If you have already collected the original certificate and paid the Convocation Registration Fee, you will have to pay the refundable Gown Deposit Fee of Tk. 2000/-.
Those of you who have already collected the original certificate and paid the Convocation Registration Fee to attend Convocation, you may deposit your original certificate to the Convocation Office and collect the Convocation gown.
Those who are not able to deposit the original certificate will be able to collect the Convocation gown by depositing the Tk. 2000.00 (refundable) Gown Deposit Fee. After the Convocation, you will be able to get your Tk. 2000.00 or the original certificate back (whichever is applicable to you) upon returning the Gown at the Convocation venue.
When you will collect the gown on the Convocation rehearsal day, you will have to pay the Gown Deposit Fee which will be a security deposit for the gown. You may also pay the Gown Deposit Fee at the Convocation Office at Uttara.
Those who have not collected the original certificate yet but paid the Convocation Registration Fee will not need to pay the Gown Deposit Fee to collect the gown.
The date and place for collection of gown and Convocation rehearsal will be announced later.
Return of gown, refund of Gown Deposit Fee and collection of Original Certificate: After the Convocation ceremony, Gown Deposit Fee will be returned to you on the spot at the Convocation venue upon return of gown.
Those who have not already collected the original certificate will collect the original certificate at the Convocation venue after the Convocation upon returning the gown.
The Convocation Registration Fee can be paid in the Account No. 1052301000000028, United Commercial Bank Ltd. (UCBL), Sonargaon Janapath branch, Uttara, or in any other branch of UCBL, in favour of Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology, or cash in Convocation Office at Uttara Campus.
If you pay the fees in a branch of UCBL, you will need the Bank Deposit Slip which you can download from this webpage. Please make sure that your name and ID are correctly and clearly written on the deposit slip while paying the fees.
